The objectives of this festival are to draw people into the vibrant South Wedge city neighborhood, to feature local businesses, showcase our commercial district, and offer the best in local entertainment, vendors, food and drink. The event will be free to the public, and last year attracted over 4000 people over the five-hour period. “It’s a Wonderful Life in the South Wedge” has been in existence for eleven years and has become another great annual event to round out Rochester’s many eclectic art, music, and entertainment festivals.
Star Alley will be decorated in a classic Christmas theme with pine boughs and decorations. Children’s activities will include an Angel Get’s it’s Wings activity, Christmas tree ornament and stocking decorating. There will be holiday themed games that appeal to all ages. Rochester’s favorite food trucks will be on hand in addition to the South Wedge’s finest eateries, many featuring holiday food and drink specials. There will be four musical groups, Jeremy Button on bagpipes, Resonanz providing seasonal carols, The Flower City Pride Band with holiday favorites, and The Buddhahood with their unique music stylings. Local businesses will provide the backdrop with special sales during the event.
